Cartesian robots produced and manufactured by Al-Ba Automazione
At Al-Ba Automazione, we design and manufacture Cartesian robots on a daily basis that can operate precisely and efficiently in many different sectors.
A Cartesian robot is that type of robot that moves along the coordinates of a Cartesian axis, i.e. along the X, Y and Z axes. It is important to understand that the peculiarity of this type of industrial robot is that it only operates in a straight line and only along the 3 Cartesian axes.
This is why, in working jargon, the Cartesian robot is also called a 3-axis Cartesian robot or manipulator.
The advantages of Cartesian robot systems in industrial automation
Cartesian robot systems in the field of industrial automation have many advantages.
The first among them is simplicity.
Cartesian robots are simple in every respect:
- Simple design, which also makes them among the cheapest industrial automation systems
- Simple customisation, which makes them suitable for many types of processing
- Simple control, from installation to periodic or extraordinary maintenance
The advanced customisation of Cartesian robots also allows you to create multi-axis Cartesian robot systems with 3 or more axes if the needs of your production line require it.
There is another very interesting advantage of Cartesian robot systems which is the possibility of managing several Cartesian robots with a single controller.
The use of Cartesian robots in industrial automation
The sectors in which this robot system is most commonly used are palletising and depalletising; the robot used in these sectors is called a Cartesian palletiser, while in the prisoner welding sector it is called a welding pantograph.
